Minimally Invasive or Keyhole surgery is a modern technique to cure many problems in the human body that require surgery or operation. The technique uses 2 to 4 small holes of 2.7 to 10 mm diameter, in the abdomen to perform the operation on the body parts inside. No large cuts need to be made on the body as in earlier days that would not only be painful, take days to heal and in the end leave ugly scars.

The magic stick used to perform minimally invasive surgeries is called the Laparoscope… an instrument that is inserted into the body through a small hole. Once inside, the laparoscope does the magic. It lights the inside and has a camera that itself is tiny but magnifies tiny body parts into manifold magnifications that can be seen on a TV monitor by the surgeon. The laparoscope facilitates the artistic hands of the surgeon to perform the operation through highly specialized instruments that are sent inside the body through other keyholes.
The surgeries done includes for - gall bladder stones, bile duct stones, hiatus hernia, peptic ulcer, appendicitis, incisional hernias, rectal prolapse, inguinal hernias, small intestine and large intestine benign and cancerous diseases, etc. Other areas of surgery includes – Cardio-Thorasic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric surgery, Urosurgery. Besides this, special surgical packages have been introduced at minimal cost for the weaker sections of the society.

Dr. Sanjay Jindal takes the pride of being pioneer to do Video assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery & Retroperitoneoscopic Surgey in Chhattisgirh state. Sanjay Jindal have been trained under the able guidance of Eminent Laparoscopic Surgeon “Dr. Pradeep Choubey” of an international repute based at Delhi.

VATS : Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery
We have performed successfully the first ever Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery, often referred to as VATS. A large size tumor (Neurofibroma) was removed from the apex of right chest using this technique. This is the first surgery of its kind in Chhattsigarh . This surgery is performed using a small video camera that is introduced into the patients chest via a scope with the video camera, the surgeon is able to view the anatomy along with other surgical instruments that are introduced into the chest via small incisions or “ ports.
A video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) might be done in many cases. The patient showed faith on our team and we were successful to create a history in the medical field of Chhattisgarh. This Surgery was performed under One Lung Anesthesia which is again a specialized technique.

Retroperitoneoscopic Surgery
We have pioneered to perform retroperitoneal minimally invasive surgery 4 years back. So far approximately 50 cases of lumber sympathectomy, Pyelolithotomy and upper ureteric stones have been performed by us. This surgery is performed using a balloon insufflations technique to create space in retroperitoneal region. This advanced technique involves dexterity in hand eye coordination and intra corporeal knot tying.
